چکیده

Curves on surfaces play an important role in computer aided geometric design. In this paper, we present a hyperbola approximation method based on the quadratic reparameterization of Bézier surfaces, which generates reasonable low degree curves lying completely on the surfaces by using iso-parameter curves of the reparameterized surfaces. The Hausdorff distance between the projected curve and the original curve is controlled under the user-specified distance tolerance. The projected curve is eT–G continuous, where eT is the user-specified angle tolerance. Examples are given to show the performance of our algorithm. 2010 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Projective Reparameterization of Rational B Ezier Simplices

A group-theoretic analysis is applied to nd the transformation of the homogeneous control points of k-dimensional B ezier simplices (such as two dimensional triangles and three dimensional tetrahedra) under a k-dimensional projective reparameterization. This transformation has applications in the perspective projection of textures represented as triangular spline intensity surfaces , in arbitra...

Arc Length Parameterization of Spline Curves

It is often desirable to evaluate parametric spline curves at points based on their arc-length instead of the curveÕs original parameter. Techniques are presented here for computing a reparameterization curve allowing approximate arc-length evaluation. This reparameterization curve is also expressed as a spline, allowing rapid evaluation as a function of arc-length. Using composition methods de...

Stitching B - Spline Curves Symbolically Stitching B - spline

Stitching or merging B-spline curves is a frequently used technique in geometric modeling, and is usually implemented in CAD-systems. These algorithms are basically numerical interpolations using the least squares method. The problem, how to replace two or more curves which are generated separately and defined as B-spline curves, has well functioning numerical solutions, therefore, relatively f...

A Shape-Preserving Data Embedding Algorithm for NURBS Curves and Surfaces

Existing data embedding algorithms for polygonal meshes and their attributes can’t be applied to the majority of (geometric) computer aided design (CAD) applications, for two major reasons. First, these CAD systems employ parametric curves and surfaces, not polygonal meshes, as their main shape-defining primitives. Second, most CAD applications do not tolerate modifications of model topology an...
